AMERICAN IDOL AUDITIONS COMING TO CHARLOTTE

For
the first time in 12 seasons, the hit Fox TV show "American Idol" will
hold auditions in Charlotte. The Queen City has been well represented on
the show, and auditions have been held in North Carolina, but tryouts
have never been held here.
Auditions will be held June 19 at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Registration will be held June 17 and June 18. You'll need to go to Tine
Warner Cable Arena to register during the designated times on those two
days. You can wait until the audition day to register, but you'll be
placed at the end of the line, and a chance to audition isn't
guaranteed. Once you have registered, you will be given a wristband and a
seating ticket and asked to return on the audition day. Remember, there
is absolutely no overnight camping allowed at the venue.
You will not be permitted to use a musical instrument during the
auditions, and despite how TV may make it appear, don't expect to see
Randy, Jennifer and Steven. You'll go through several prior audition
rounds before you make it to the "TV" auditions. But what about those
awful auditions they show on television, you ask? That's just a little
Hollywood magic. They're put through purely for entertainment.
You'll need to fill out a form, which can be found here. A complete FAQ list can be found here, detailing what to bring, where to go, and how to act. And any updates to registration days and times can be found on this page.
If you miss Charlotte, you've got a good journey to get to the next
audition. Other cities hosting tryouts are L.A., San Antonio, Newark,
Chicago, New Orleans, and Oklahoma City.
Are you planning on heading out to audition? Let us know what song you'll be singing!
