KERSHAW COUNTY — Kershaw County investigators arrested a Lugoff couple Monday on charges related to sex abuse of a child.
Michael Browning, 36, was charged with sexually abusing two children. His wife, Kelly Browning, 34, was charged with unlawful neglect upon a child.
Deputies said Kelly Browning’s charge means she knew of the abuse but did nothing about it.
Sheriff Jim Matthews said the case came to light when deputies responded to a disturbance at a home. During that call, a child there told a deputy about alleged inappropriate touching, the sheriff said.
After further investigating and interviews, deputies filed charges against the Brownings, Matthews said.
