Snoop Dogg Bashes ‘The Voice’, Wants To Develop New Show

Snoop Dogg believes he knows a thing or two about what makes ‘good television’. In a recent interview with The Daily Mail UK, the 40-year-old, who recently made an appearance on the The Price is Right, discussed his distaste with NBC’s The Voice. He believes not enough time is being put into finding the right winner, because according to Snoop, it takes more than having a great voice to be a great singer.
“You could have the best voice ever but be as boring as hell. I don't see it producing a One Direction or Susan Boyle,” he told the publication.
Though he's displeased with The Voice, Snoop does enjoy tuning into American Idol and The X-Factor from time to time, but is interested in developing his own singing competition directed towards finding talent in the hood.
'The American Idol and X Factor shows, they're great shows,” he said. “But I think I need to make a show like that, directed straight to the hood. To the artists that don't get the attention, that don't have the money to make themselves representable. This raw talent and ability.”
The veteran rapper is currently shopping his idea around to networks, looking for a home.
'I'm looking for a deal from one of you TV networks to give Snoop Dogg his own hood TV show where I can find America's hottest hood artists.'
Due to the increasing popularity of reality shows, Snoop Dogg may not have to search far and wide for a deal. Would you watch?
