0625_jerry_sandusky_mugshotJerry Sandusky was mercilessly taunted for HOURS during his first night in jail back in December -- when his fellow inmates chanted Pink Floyd's famous lyrics ... "Hey teacher, leave those kids alone!"

One of the men in the facility at the time -- a 22-year-old named Josh -- described the events to The Daily, saying they sang the song over and over ... all night.

68-year-old Sandusky spent the night in jail following his second arrest on December 7th, 2011 -- after a grand jury voted to charge the former Penn State football coach with an additional 12 counts of child abuse, bringing his new total to 52.

That's when the above mug shot was taken.

Four counts were eventually dropped, leaving 48 remaining. Last week, Sandusky was found guilty on 45. He's currently awaiting sentencing behind bars.

Sandusky faces a maximum of 442 years in prison.

Jerry Sandusky
was found guilty tonight of child molestation, and will almost certainly spend the rest of his life in prison.

The former Penn State assistant football coach was found guilty of 45 of the 48 counts involving 10 boys over a 15 year period.

The jury reached the verdict after deliberating a little more than 20 hours.  The judge didn't want to wait until Monday so he had the verdict read at 10 PM ET.

68-year-old Sandusky showed little emotion as the verdicts were read.

He was sent immediately to county jail, where he will await formal sentencing, probably in about 3 months.

8 victims took the stand to testify against Sandusky -- often in graphic detail -- describing how the former PSU coach abused them, from inappropriate touching and group showering, to forced oral and anal sex. Other witnesses described accounts pertaining to the remaining two victims.

Sandusky did not take the stand in his own defense.

Sandusky's lawyers insinuated the witnesses were financially motivated -- but the defense fell flat.

Sandusky met many of the children he abused through his Second Mile children's charity ... which Sandusky claimed he founded to help underprivileged boys.

PSU football coaching icon Joe Paterno was fired after the scandal for not taking enough action following a 2001 report that Sandusky had molested a child in the PSU showers. Paterno died shortly after from lung cancer.

  — Investigators say a woman and a man broke into the homes of her Facebook friends after finding out they were out of town by their posts on the social networking site.
Deputies say 39-year-old Candace Landreth and 44-year-old Robert Landreth Jr. burglarized several Anderson County homes over the past two months.
Investigators say they turned the tables on the pair, arresting them after they were identified in surveillance photos the sheriff's office posted on Facebook selling stolen merchandise at a Greenville video game store.
Both suspects are being held at the Anderson County jail. It wasn't clear if they had attorneys or if they they were related to one another.

Conrad Murray's prayers have been answered -- the good doc got a fresh pair of underwear and a clean jail uniform this week after lodging major complaints about the way he's being treated behind bars.

TMZ broke the story ... Murray believed he was going to die in L.A. County Jail ... claiming he's being treated like filth -- getting fresh air once a month, and fresh underwear once a WEEK.

But after lodging his complaints, we're told Murray saw immediate results. In fact, Connie told his lawyers a swarm of deputies came into his cell Monday morning ... and couldn't have been more accommodating.

Besides the clean clothes, Murray got a new blanket ... and was taken to the roof so he could get some fresh air.

A rep for the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. tells us Murray is receiving the appropriate level of care for the headache he was complaining about. The rep also claims Murray was evaluated by a doctor last week.

Murray's attorneys acknowledge things are better, but "still characterize his living conditions as horrendous." Meanwhile, Connie couldn't be happier -- sources close to the doc tell us, "His spirits are much improved."
