Registered NC sex offender caught spying at pool

SALISBURY, N.C. — Salisbury, N.C., police are crediting lifeguards after a registered sex offender was caught spying on swimmers.
Police arrested Perry Quintin Simmons, 48, Monday after they said he violated his requirements as a registered sex offender.
Police
said they were called to the Lincoln Park Pool on Old Concord Road
after lifeguards noticed a man sitting outside the pool area watching
people with binoculars.
Police said the lifeguards immediately
called police. When police arrived, they said they saw Simmons sitting
on a park bench about 75 feet from the pool area with binoculars in his
possession.
Simmons was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and was sent to jail with bail set at $5,000.
