A witness told police that around 3:15 p.m., a 22-year-old man was talking on his cell phone when an unknown silver car passed by. He then told the person on the phone, “I see them now,” according to a Rock Hill police report.
The man on the phone got out a Crown Victoria, while the passenger in the silver car got out with a 9mm semiautomatic pistol, the report states. The gunman, wearing a long white T-shirt and black and red baseball cap, fired his pistol at the man, breaking the Crown Victoria’s back windshield, the report states.
The other man took a .40 caliber pistol from his waist band and fired seven rounds at the gunman, the report states. The initial shooter got back into the silver car and fired two more rounds while he was hanging out the passenger side window.
No one was injured in the shooting.
A child was in the Crown Victoria, according to witnesses.
Officers noticed a silver car parked at a Fargo Street residence and spoke with the woman who owns the car. She told police that she hadn’t driven the car recently. Police searched for the gunman in her home.
Police asked the woman if she knew the gunman. At first, she denied it but an officer noticed a tattoo of the gunman’s name on her chest. The woman then said she broke up with the gunman three months ago.
Police have identified a suspect and are searching for the man.
